The Director of Student Ministries will help young people establish meaningful relationships with Jesus Christ and to support parents as their children grow. The Director will lead, engage, and coordinate a large group of volunteers, and develop and oversee the ministry’s programs.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of student programming on Sunday morning and evening as well as Wednesday night.
- Provide biblical teaching, mentorship, and spiritual guidance, helping students grow in their faith and relationship with Christ.
- Engage and equip volunteers to assist in various aspects of student ministry.
- Planning and coordinating social, spiritual, and community service activities. Examples include, vacation bible school, church camp, lock-ins, trunk or treat and other similar events.
- Train and equip students for appropriate servant ministry and/or leadership roles within the congregation.
- Maintain communication channels including social media, email, and bulletin to generate interest and keep people aware of upcoming youth activities.
Qualifications:
- 2 years’ experience in youth ministry preferred
- Relationship and leadership skills for working with students and their parents
- Knowledge of technology and social media platforms
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing
