On March 11, the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus, or COVID-19, outbreak to be a global pandemic. We are grieved at the number of lives this virus has claimed as well as the global disruption it has caused.
We are calling on all Southern Baptists to pray for an end to this global pandemic and that God will bring His Church together at this time to sharpen our focus like never before.
This is not a time for Southern Baptists to shrink back in timidity and fearfulness or be paralyzed with uncertainty. This is not the time to retreat. This is a time for us to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person in every town, every city, every state and every nation.
Currently, our Leadership Team at Vann Avenue seeks to follow the guidelines set in place by the CDC, the President of the United States, the Governor of Indiana, and local authorities. We are currently maintaining two Sunday Morning Worship Services and Sunday School, while holding to strict and updated cleaning procedures, as well as observing all social distancing guidelines. We continue to monitor this situation closely and will respond and update our plan on a monthly, and in some cases, a week to week basis. We covet your prayers, not only for our leadership team, but also for the health and safety of all who attend our weekly gatherings.
